Judith has been working as a mediator, trainer, facilitator and coach for more than 15 years. Her specialist fields are workplace conflict resolution, industrial and employee relations, independent investigations, coaching and wellbeing/resilience projects.
Judith combines this experience with working as an Employment Solicitor, a role she qualified into in 1996. She now works as a Consultant Solicitor with Excello Law, having previously worked with Workwise Legal LLP, Simmons & Simmons LLP, MakeUK (formerly EEF, the Engineering Employer’s Federation) and Salans.
Judith has a particular interest in workplace culture and ethics. She has extensive experience mediating at all levels in the public and private sectors.
Judith is a CEDR-Accredited Mediator and qualified as an Accredited Workplace Mediator in 2008, which is when she set up and managed EEF’s national mediation service until she left to establish her own consultancy business in 2010. She is Registered as a Workplace Mediator with the Civil Mediation Council.
Also, she is a Non-Legal Member of the Employment Tribunal Panel and served for 14 years as a Trustee of an Occupational Pension Scheme.
Judith’s specialism is in blending the skills and experience from a large and deep toolkit comprising:
• long legal experience in the world of employment law, industrial relations and employee engagement • mediation and facilitated conflict resolution approaches • individual client coaching including handling stressful situations at work, and
• extensive experience training managers at all levels.
Judith also has many years of experience and qualifications in resilience and well-being coaching.
Nigel has over 30 year`s experience as an employment and commercial lawyer which has included an appearance in the European Court of Justice. He still provides employment advice as a Consultant at Davies and Partners Solicitors.
From early in his career Nigel observed the stress , frustration and waste of resources in matters being determined in Court and Tribunals when other options were available which could provide a better way forward for those involved. As such he trained as a mediator and has since gained very significant experience as a mediator.
His knowledge of employment law has meant that he has mediated many Employment and Workplace Disputes as well as a wide variety of commercial and other disputes.
His mediation style is calm and polite whilst being prepared to reality test in an unthreatening way. He has a genuine interest in what those involved have to say and then works with them to find beneficial solutions.
Nigel`s passion for mediation has led him into mediation training and mentoring. He loves to share his knowledge and experience and seeks to deliver a fun , engaging learning environment .The training involves extensive role playing and allows attendees to experience the challenges of mediation in a safe and enjoyable environment.
Assisted by his employment law background Nigel also provides training in employment law matters. He has been involved in many discrimination and unfair dismissal cases in Tribunal and assisted by that experience often provides training in Equality , Diversity and Inclusion , bullying and harassment and line management issues.
Emma Jenkings is an experienced Workplace Mediator, Executive Conflict & Assertiveness Coach, DISC Practitioner, Mentor, MHFA, and Communication Skills Trainer.
Emma is skilled in developing rapport with individuals and insightfully and calmly leading them through the conflict resolution process.
After finishing her Law degree, Emma worked for several years for the Ministry of Justice at the Employment Tribunal as a Caseworker, Tribunal Clerk and Customer Service Officer.
Emma trained with Globis Mediation Group to become an Accredited Employment and Workplace Mediator in 2015. She also has gone on to become a trained conflict coach, DISC practitioner, and Mental Health First Aider.
Since training as a mediator, Emma has facilitated numerous mediations in a range of sectors and has a very high rate of success of getting to resolution. Business sectors include: charities, education providers, manufacturing companies, pharmaceutical companies, within the NHS, city council, SME's, IT service providers and micro businesses.
Emma finds great satisfaction in helping individuals communicate effectively so they can resolve issues, feel listened to, and find a mutually agreeable solution through mediation.
Emma is also a Lead Facilitator at Bloom Mediator Mentoring, which provides services for mediators including mentoring, supervision, debriefing and virtual mediation case support.
Emma enjoys writing about mediation, conflict resolution and communication tips and YouTube channel, and is regularly booked for speaking engagements, podcasts, and interviews.
